Stefanie Sun Sisters: Meet Sng Ee-mei And Sng Yee-kia: Born on July 23, 1978, Stefanie Sun is a Singaporean singer and songwriter.
She developed a passion for singing at a younger age, has been consistent throughout his career, and has risen to become one of the most sought-after Singaporean singers.
When Sun debuted on the music scene in 2000, she became an instant Mandopop sensation in Singapore and Taiwan.
Her debut album, Yan Zi which was released in 2000 won her a Golden Melody Award for Best New Artist.
Sun sang the English and Mandarin versions of the Singapore National Day Parade theme songs for 2002 – “We Will Get There” and 2003 – “One United People”
In 2004, she released her eighth studio album, Stefanie, which won her another Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Female Singer.
In 2008, Sun played Guan Yin Goddess in “12 Lotus”, a Singaporean musical drama film written and directed by Royston Tan.
“12 Lotus” was released in theatres on 14 August 2008 and was screened at the 13th Busan International Film Festival in October 2008
In early January 2020, she collaborated with Taiwanese band, Mayday, to release the new version of their 2000 hit “Tenderness”.
On 27 May 2022, more than 240 million people watched Sun perform in a one-hour virtual concert streamed on Douyin.
She has chalked up impressive record sales and has won numerous best newcomer awards in not only Singapore and Taiwan but also China and Hong Kong.
