“Snaping Pictures And Posting On Social Media Is A GREAT Sin” – Religious Scholar Claims

Abiona Taofeek Altruist, a religious scholar and the founder of Altruist Education and Business Institute has noted that it is a great sin to take pictures of yourself and post on social media.

He took to Facebook to laud and shower blessing on “brothers and sisters” who have not for once uploaded their photo online.

According to him, capturing a picture is a “great sin”. He then urged all and sundry to repent and turn to Allah.

For the “stubborn” people who can’t stop uploading pictures on social media, he prayed that their hearts will be softened.

He wrote:

“May Allah bless those brothers and sisters who have not for once uploaded their pictures on social media, and may He soften the heart of those  stubborn people who are so fond of doing it. Just stop capturing a picture, it’s indéed a great sin. Repent now and turn back to Your Lord[Allah]. May Allah forgive our shortcomings, give us the best understanding of His Deen[Islam] and preserve us upon sunnah and goodness.”
