Following the success of his newfound love, four of his games; Barbarossa, Adel Verpflichtet, Drunter und Drüber and The Settlers of Catan won the prestigious Spiel des Jahres awards
He won the Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year) award four times: Barbarossa (1988), Adel Verpflichtet (1990), Drunter und Drüber (1991), and The Settlers of Catan (1995).
Interestingly, Teuber’s board game, The Settlers of Catan sold over 32 million copies and spawned a family of expansions and versions.
Later, the family game business was incorporated as Catan Gmbh in 2002. His sons now direct the family business with his wife and daughter playing roles as bookkeeper and tester respectively.
