In January 2023 he made headlines when it was announced on Wednesday, February 8 that, Professor Ho Teck Hua will leave the University of Singapore (NUS) to become the fifth President of Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
Prof Ho was appointed after a global search, in line with the best practices of leading universities, said Ms. Goh Swee Chen, chair of the NTU board of trustees adding that his appointment takes effect from April 24, 2023.
Professor Ho Teck Hua will replace Professor Subra Suresh, who stepped down in December 2022 after five years at the helm to return to the United States. He will also become an NTU distinguished university professor when he begins his tenure.
Ahead of his departure, the University announced several changes to its senior leadership team. Prof Ho will be working with the senior leadership team on a smooth transition before he leaves NUS on April 23.
