Bland began his professional career in 1969 and followed in the footsteps of some of South Africa’s greatest as he won the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit five times.
Bland joined the ranks of champions that included Sid and Jock Brews, Bobby Locke, and Gary Player in 1970 by winning the Transvaal Open.
Player was defeated by Bland to win the South African PGA Championship in 1977.
Bland, who has amassed 19 victories on the Sunshine Tour, has also won twice on the DP World Tour (European Tour) and peaked at number 48 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
