Assin Kushea Palace, ‘Africa’s Biggest Palace’ That Is Still Under Construction

Before colonial rule and the subsequent take over by governments after independence, villages, town and cities were governed by Chiefs and Paramount Chiefs.

These traditional rulers lived and still live in palaces which also serves as their office. The paramount chief of the Owirenkyi Traditional Area, Ahunabobrim Prah Agyensaim VI is taking his palace, Assin Kushea Palace to another level.

Located in the cleanest town in Ghana, Assin Kushea, the Assin Kushea Palace which is still under construction will become one of the best looking and also the biggest on the African continent when fully completed.

The magnificent palace can boasts a botanical garden, zoo, massive courtyard and several rooms with many hand-crafted sculptures seen around the Palace, depicting the beautiful Ghanaian tradition, specifically that of the Assin Kushea.

Rumors suggest that, the paramount chief, Ahunabobrim Prah Agyensaim VI wouldn’t live in the Palace when it’s completed, but rather, he’s building it to promote tourism and culture in the town.
